How to Choose the Right Ice Makers

Start with the ice type: "Cube" ice is best for drinks as it melts slowly; "Flake" ice is ideal for food displays and medical use. Next, calculate your daily requirement (kg per 24 hours) and your storage bin capacity. If your bar is quiet but has high-peak hours, you need a large storage bin. Consider the cooling method: air-cooled machines are cheaper but need space to breathe, while water-cooled machines are quieter and better for hot, enclosed spaces but use more water. Always factor in a water filter.

Care & Maintenance

  • Descale Regularly: Use a food-grade descaler every 6 months to remove limescale buildup on the evaporator.

  • Water Filter Changes: Replace the water filter every 6 months to ensure ice is clear, tasteless, and safe.

  • Sanitize the Bin: Scrub the storage bin weekly to prevent the growth of "pink slime" or biofilm.

  • Air Filter Cleaning: Wash the air filter monthly to prevent the machine from overheating and slowing production.
