Frozen Display
Gas fryers are a popular choice in commercial kitchens due to their fast heat-up times, powerful performance, and efficient temperature recovery. Ideal for restaurants, takeaways, pubs, and catering businesses, gas fryers deliver consistent results for chips, chicken, fish, and other fried foods. Their responsive flame control allows chefs to maintain precise cooking temperatures even during peak service. Built for durability and high output, gas fryers are well-suited for busy kitchens where speed and reliability are essential.
How to Choose the Right Frozen Display
The most important feature is "Heated Glass" or "Triple Glazing," which prevents external condensation in busy environments. Look for units with internal LED lighting that is specifically rated for sub-zero temperatures to ensure longevity. If you are selling ice cream, a unit with a slightly higher temperature range and "soft-serve" consistency capability might be needed, whereas pre-packed meats require a standard -18C-22C. Consider the defrost method; automatic hot-gas defrosting is highly recommended for display units to keep the glass and shelves ice-free.
Care & Maintenance
-
Gasket Inspection: Frozen units are prone to ice-up if the seal is even slightly damaged; inspect and clean gaskets daily.
-
Internal Frost Removal: Use a plastic scraper to gently remove any minor frost buildup between deep-clean cycles.
-
Compressor Health: Ensure the unit has adequate ventilation, as display freezer compressors run harder than fridge compressors.
-
Stock Rotation: Ensure old stock is moved to the front to prevent "freezer burn" on items hidden in the back.
